NAME: European Migration Film Festival

CODE: 2018-1-ES02-KA105-011321

"European Migration Film Festival" (2018-1-ES02-KA105-011321) is a project implemented by Biderbost, Boscan & Rochin (BB&R), in collaboration with HRYO, AKEP and NCFutureNow. Funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Commission, with support of Spanish Youth Institute and Castilla y León Youth Institute.

2. RESUME OF THE PROJECT

It has been identified that in Bulgaria, Greece, Italy and Spain, there is a scarce production and diffusion of films that give visibility to the positive aspects of migration. On the contrary, the examples of migrant and refugee people in cinema are still more prone to repeat stereotyped roles that, in most cases, are exclusively individual cases. Unfortunately, all the above has allowed films to generate and consolidate erroneous perspectives and experiences about migration.

Given this context, it has been decided to "give a twist" to this situation and celebrate a Short Film Competition.
The purpose of this contest is to:

• Promote a positive narrative about migration and to give visibility to the contributions that citizens of third countries have made to European Union (EU) societies.

• At the same time, the Short Film Competition will result in the European Migration Film Festival.

• Both actions are expected to contribute to transforming the perception that EU citizens have about migration and refugee.

• The above is extremely important, in order to generate a better climate of coexistence, union, respect, cooperation and a sense of belonging (as European values seek).

3. THEME OF THE FILMS

The short films must address:

• The issue of the positive consequences of migration within the European Union, so they can take reference to migration, borders, living and working in a new country, inclusion, culture shock and stereotypes, welcome actions, etc.,
